SNETTERTON… A DIFFICULT WEEKEND DOESN’T GET BETTER

Race 2… get it into gear!

For race 2B, I started 14th. My start was a lot better. My starting position left me in a group of cars wanting to fight for every inch of circuit. The race consisted of a tough but fair battle throughout the race. I managed to break away from this mid-pack. However, half a lap later, coming onto the Bentley Straight, I missed 3rd to 4th, as the gear would just not go in, and then lost the positions I’d gained!

I got them back and finished 11th. I’d gained positions but not enough in my opinion.

Hmm… I wondered why the car was slowing down a bit

Not third time lucky…

Starting 11th for race 3B, I just wanted to gain more positions and get into the top 10. My start again was a good one, and I stayed with the pack. Unfortunately, this race was also to succumb to car troubles. The car was producing a lot less power than usual; in the corners I could hold off the other cars but on the straights coupled with slipstream, there was nothing I could do. This meant I dropped down the order in a car that had seemed like it had given up for the weekend. I came back into parc ferme after the race had finished in a dull mood after having a difficult weekend of racing. The car (with its air intake hose trailing underneath) and I limped back to AB Motorsport’s pit area and the guys consoled me on a tough weekend.

With a month break until the next round at Cadwell Park in June, the car will have its engine rebuilt and will gets its long-awaited Car Magic livery. Both the car and I will come back refreshed and stronger for the next one!
